Our group began its activity in Oroszlány in Komárom-Esztergom County, in 1987 with 9-10-year-old girls in close co-operation with the Youth Wind Orchestra on the venture of KondorFerencné and with the leading of Geisztné Gogolák Éva.
Our programmes consisted of stage majorette and march choreographies.
At first we had our trainings in the Pioneer house then in the schools of the town and later in the Culture Centre.
At the recent time the majorettes were almost unknown in Hungary. Without real know-how and central direction we worked on the basis of our own imaginations and personal qualification.
During the years the number of musical styles and dances used by the dancers increased.
Csáky Mária and Izingné Győrffy Mónika have co-operated in the professional work. The music has compiled by Kondor Ferenc. The stage costumes have been designed by Geisztné Gogolák Éva.
In the last seven years the teaching has been going on the faculty of modern dances of the Bakfark Bálint Art School in Oroszlány. Beyond the obligatory syllabus suitable for the age of students, the children learn “for addition” majorette techniques and twirling.
So by this way it is possible that the repertoire, which consists of 6-8 dances, has been changing year after year. The dances range from traditional majorette, twirling, character and show dances, to modern-contemporary and folk dances as well.
Our art school is attended by approximately 120 students, from the age of five till the school-leavers of the secondary education.
Each school year is finished with a Dance-gala, together with the ballet faculty, where all of our dancer-students can take part in the performance.
During the summer holidays we have usually organised preparatory camps, where our students take part in 3-4 hours of intensive technical and physical training, folk and homeland education, skill improving and free-time activities.
Since 1997 we take part successfully with different dance-styles in the National Dance Art Festivals, which is organised by the National Union of the Dance Teachers year by year. We usually perform in the programmes of our town and county, inland festivals and celebrations. Beyond these performances we have already taken part in numeral programmes organised in different parts of Europe and even Taiwan.
Every year about 30 times we support programmes, which are organised by civil organizations in the benefit of our town, Oroszlány and Komárom-Esztergom county or for the pleasure of older generation.
Beyond the winning of a prize or a qualification there is a lot of energy, giving up altogether with pleasure and enjoyment of the students and teachers. The acknowledgement of the audience and the experts during the performances means pleasure and constant motivation for renewing our repertoire and raising the standard of our work.
Our aim is to develop the motion-culture and claim for healthy life-style of our students, raise interest for dance culture, form creative communities and recognise talents.
